Review: AZ Paint & Animated GIF Editor is just another program that you can use to modify your image files. It supports several file types, including BMP, JPG, PNG, TGA and PCX, along with GIF animations. The interface of the application is familiar and dull. AZ Paint & Animated GIF Editor lets you use some basic editing functions which include paint, eraser, fill, polygon, line, filled rectangle, circle, eye dropper and stamp. Additionally, you can flip, resize and rotate pictures at any angle, add text (e.g. hollow, ordinary, embossed, engraved) and apply a wide range of effects which include brighten, sharpen, contrast, fade, grayscale, night vision, gradient and 3D draw. AZ Paint & Animated GIF Editor also allows you to read EXIF information, add and texturize layers, use the undo and redo functions, create slideshows, zoom in and out, as well as stamp photographs with EXIF details. Plus, you can easily find differences between two pictures, assemble frames from files to create GIF animations or automatically generate a frames series. In the Options menu you can set AZ Paint & Animated GIF Editor to monitor RAM activity, disable sound during slideshows and display rulers for the current session only. The image editing program needs a low-to-moderate amount of CPU and system memory. It is very responsive, includes a help file and delivers files with a good image quality. We have not encountered any difficulties during our tests. The interface needs some major improvements but we must keep in mind that AZ Paint & Animated GIF Editor has not received updates recently.
